About
What is the DDA?
The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is responsible for facilitating growth and development in Grandville’s downtown area to ensure its stability in the Grandville community.
The DDA is also responsible for maintaining and improving physical attributes of this designated district, generally located downtown and along the 28th Street and Chicago Drive corridors.
The DDA invests in downtown by purchasing and selling property, developing and maintaining public spaces such as parking areas, and providing assistance for business owners to improve the appearance of their buildings.
Established in 1984 in accordance with Michigan State Law, Public Act No.197 of 1975, the DDA is a 9-member board appointed by the City Council. The majority of DDA board members are business and property owners from within the district.
The DDA is funded only with tax increments generated within the district since 1984.
