About

What is the DDA?

The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is responsible for facilitating growth and development in Grandville’s downtown area to ensure its stability in the Grandville community.

The DDA is also responsible for maintaining and improving physical attributes of this designated district, generally located downtown and along the 28th Street and Chicago Drive corridors.

The DDA invests in downtown by purchasing and selling property, developing and maintaining public spaces such as parking areas, and providing assistance for business owners to improve the appearance of their buildings.

Established in 1984 in accordance with Michigan State Law, Public Act No.197 of 1975, the DDA is a 9-member board appointed by the City Council. The majority of DDA board members are business and property owners from within the district.

The DDA is funded only with tax increments generated within the district since 1984.

I have loved being part of Downtown Grandville for the past 5.5 years! I chose the location for my business because it is convenient for many people to get to, but have stayed because I love everything the town has to offer. From engaging with the schools through the Art & Chocolate Walk to the fun of the Adult Egg-Hunt and nostalgia of Vintage Fest and more, Downtown Grandville has so much to offer!
